2010 Dog Licenses Available
All West Springfield residents who are the keeper or owner of a dog are required to license their pet when it reaches the age of 6 months, and each January thereafter.
The 2009 dog licenses will expire on December 31, 2009
The fees: $6.00 for an altered dog and $l5.00 for an unaltered dog. Proof of alteration must be provided when first licensing.
The licenses can be purchased in the Town Clerk’s Office (Monday-Friday) 8:30A-4:00P.
If it is more convenient for residents to license through the mail, they should provide the Town Clerk with proof that the last rabies shot is current, and provide a self-addressed stamped envelope ($1.13 for one dog or $1.30 for 2 or three dogs), and mail payment to Town Clerk, 26 Central Street Ste. 8, West Springfield, MA 01089-2779.
A $25 late fee is imposed for any dog licensed after March 1st unless the pet was adopted after that date.
The zoning by-laws allow up to three dogs, unless the owner qualifies for a kennel license by owning a parcel of land consisting of five or more acres of land within the Town.
